 To achieve this, we follow a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) designed to prevent excessive or abusive data consumption that may impact the experience of other users sharing the same network.

This policy ensures fair distribution of bandwidth while maintaining a balanced, high-quality connection for all subscribers.

What Is Fair Usage?

“Fair Usage” refers to the responsible use of broadband bandwidth. While many of our plans are advertised as unlimited, every user’s consumption should remain within reasonable limits defined by the plan’s FUP threshold.

When a user consistently consumes excessive bandwidth that affects others’ performance, speed reduction or temporary restrictions may apply as per this policy.

Data Usage Limits & Speed Adjustment

Each plan on our website clearly displays its data limit (FUP threshold).

Once the specified data volume is consumed within the plan cycle:

  • The connection continues without interruption, but at a reduced speed as mentioned in the respective plan.
  • The original speed will be restored automatically at the start of the next billing cycle or upon renewal/top-up (where applicable).

This system ensures all customers enjoy reliable performance without network congestion.

Monitoring & Enforcement

Tachyon Broadband continuously monitors network usage patterns to ensure balanced bandwidth distribution. We may take appropriate action in the following cases:
  • Continuous heavy usage that degrades network performance
  • Unauthorised redistribution, hotspot sharing, or commercial usage on residential plans
  • Automated or server-based downloads/uploads at high frequency

Repeated violations may lead to suspension or termination of service.

Responsible Usage Guidelines

To help maintain an optimal network for everyone, please follow these best practices:
  • Avoid connecting a large number of devices simultaneously.
  • Schedule large downloads/uploads during off-peak hours.
  • Use streaming and gaming responsibly on shared connections.
  • Do not host public servers, proxy services, or VPN hubs without written approval.

We encourage conscious usage to ensure everyone enjoys stable connectivity.

Business vs. Residential Plans

Our residential broadband plans are intended for personal and household use only.
 For higher-volume or shared network requirements (such as offices, co-working spaces, or enterprises), we recommend switching to a business broadband or leased-line plan designed for continuous, high-capacity data consumption.

Tachyon Broadband reserves the right to modify or update this Fair Usage Policy at any time to reflect technological, regulatory, or network changes.
 Updates will be published on our website with a revised “Last Updated” date.

Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the updated FUP terms.
